Conspiracy to murder, sexual assault and false imprisonment: Five Telford suspects charged

Five people from Telford have been charged with conspiracy to murder a teenage man.

The five are due to appear at Telford Magistrates Court tomorrow morning in connection with an incident at a private address in Willowfield in Woodside, Telford.

They have all been charged with conspiracy to murder, conspiracy to sexually assault a male and false imprisonment.

Police were called to Willowfield in the early hours of Thursday.

The victim, who was initially said to be a man in his 20s but is now understood to be a teenager, was taken to hospital with multiple injuries and a police tent was set up at the scene while officers carried out investigations.

Stephanie Christine Titley, 25, of Willowfield, Telford, Gavin Smith, 19, of Southgate, Sutton Hill, Telford, Luke Mansell, 23, of Southgate, Sutton Hill, Telford, Nathan Peter Bates, 19, of Villa Court, Madeley, Telford, and Dean Butler, aged 23, of no fixed abode have all been charged.

A 16-year-old boy from Telford and a 24-year-old man from Telford both remain in police custody having been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

A 20-year-old woman from Telford arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been bailed until the end of September while investigations continue.

The victim remains in a stable condition in hospital.

It is believed the incident took place some time between August 27 and when the report was made at about 12.20am on Thursday.

Detective Inspector Billy Scott of West Mercia Police said: "We are continuing to investigate the incident and believe that there may still be people with information that have not yet come forward. I would urge these people to contact us straight away."
