North Wales Police teams have spent the last month leading the investigation after receiving information that an unidentified man had been murdered and disposed of on the outskirts of Wrexham.

In recent weeks divers have searched a section of the Llangollen Canal in the Chirk and Chirk Bank area as part of the inquiry.

The police divers had previously examined the Chirk Bank and Moreton stretches of the canal.

The investigation, which started last month, has seen officers search a smallholding in Henlle Lane on the edge of Gobowen, near Oswestry, as well as woodland on the outskirts of Bwlchgwyn, near Wrexham.

Delyth Jones, spokeswoman for North Wales Police, yesterday confirmed searches remained ongoing, and that no arrests had been made in connection with the investigation.
