Man arrested after swastika painted on Shrewsbury High Street door

A man is in custody after a swastika was painted on the door of a Shrewsbury solicitors' practice.

The 56-year-old man was arrested today after the offensive logo was painted on the door of a premises on the High Street on Monday.

A West Mercia Police spokeswoman said: "We received a report of an offensive logo being drawn on the door of a premises on the High Street, Shrewsbury.

"This has been logged as an incident of racially/religiously aggravated harrassment/alarm/distress by words/writing.

"A 56-year-old man from Shrewsbury has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in custody."
