Teenager threatened and blackmailed into handing over cash near Blists Hill Victorian Town

A teenager was blackmailed into handing over cash after being threatened by a man in Madeley - police say.

The 14-year-old was walking along the Silkin Way close to Blists Hill Victorian Town when a man threatened him and demanded money.

The teenager said he had no money and the man threatened him and told him to return to the same spot the next week with money.

Worried about the threats, the victim went back to the path at 8.45pm on Wednesday and handed over the money.

He was again threatened by the man and ran away.

The offender is described as a black man of a large build, approximately 6' 2" tall. It is believed he spoke with an Eastern European-type accent and was wearing a balaclava, a black zip up hooded jumper with white drawcords, Adidas striped tracksuit bottoms, Nike Gloves and Nike 110 trainers.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed either incident or who has any information.
