Thieves ram industrial park gates

Thieves rammed locked gates to get out of an industrial park in Shropshire after breaking into two business units, causing thousands of pounds of damage.

A Ford Escort van and LDV van were stolen from Leaton Industrial Estate, in Bomere Heath, near Shrewsbury.

Police believe the Ford was used to force open the gates before burglars made off with copper piping and power tools in the LDV, which was later dumped.

It happened between ab-out 3.30am and 4am on Wednesday, police said today, adding a value had not yet been placed on the missing items but more than £4,000 of damage had been caused.
