Cars 'weave in and out of runners' on Oswestry Half Marathon route - pictures

As runners headed round the route of the inaugural Oswestry Half Marathon, some will have been shocked to see cars coming towards them.

Pictures have been sent in of cars driving on the Cabin Lane section of the route, with witnesses describing them as "weaving in and out of runners".

Witnesses said road closure signs were in place but that there were no marshals stopping traffic.

Some 1,000 runners were expected to take part in the race today.
