Severn Trent Water confirmed a valve was left open during some work being carried out in the SY3 area of the town which left some households with no water or low pressure.

The company said Grange Road and Bank Drive West were affected.

A spokesman said: "We were carrying out some rehabilitation work and a valve was left open.

"We had a couple of no supply and low pressure calls but whoever was doing the work closed the valve and everything was fine."

There was also flushing work taking place in the Roman Road and Porthill Road area which saw water spill onto the road.

The company said this was to clean the new pipes being laid before they could be used.
