Letter: Leave group did not vote for a renegotiation of EU rules

Roger France asks "if Davis, Johnson, and Fox decide the best deal for the UK doesn't meet all his wishes will Mr Allen accept with good grace the decision of the three wise Brexiteers"?

"Brexit" is a convenient abbreviation for "Britain's Exit" from the European Union.

In the largest and best attended democratic vote ever held in the United Kingdom, 17.4 million people voted to leave the EU.

They definitely did not vote to renegotiate the terms for staying in.

David Cameron was given the chance to do that and failed; remember?

Neither did we vote for a change of Prime Minister to another Tory "Remainer", Theresa May, to procrastinate and then renegociate our membership of the corrupt, imploding shambles that is the European Union.

Because it is counter intuitive the Remainers, who are either too lazy or (more likely) do not have the mental capacity to do the calculations, do not understand that we would definitely be much better off out of the EU.

Outside the EU we would have to pay a tariff, set by the World Trade Organisation, of less than 3.4 per cent for our exports to the EU. In 2014 we paid the equivalent of 7.7 per cent tariff in membership fees to the EU.

Not only does this represent a huge saving in the tariffs we pay to the EU but also if we were outside the EU then it would have to pay a 3.4 per cent tariff for its exports to the UK. As we import far, far more from the EU than we export to that group of countries we would gain enormously (it would have been £11.4 billion profit in 2014).

Add to this benefit the winning back of our independent democracy, the freedom to trade with the other 200 countries outside the EU, the taking back the control of our borders and our own lives then the answer to Roger's question is no.

The Tories lied to get us into the Common Market and have lied ever since as they handed us over to the European Union bit by bit. They are Merkel's Quislings and we must remove them from all positions of responsibility as soon as possible.
