McDonald's in Colliers Way, near the Forge Retail Park in Telford, had to shut its drive-thru service for seven hours on Sunday when a Porsche got stuck outside.

Nobody was hurt and the restaurant itself remained open to customers.

A spokeswoman for McDonald's said the company believed the driver had accidentally put the car into drive when they had meant to reverse out of a parking space.

The car became lodged on a sign and was stuck until it could be pulled away.

The spokeswoman said: "We can confirm an incident occurred in the drive- thru of our Telford Forge restaurant on Sunday.

"Thankfully no-one was injured and, as a precautionary measure, the drive-thru was closed from 4pm until 11pm.

"During this time, the restaurant remained open for customers to purchase food in store.

"The drive-thru is now open and trading as normal."
