Inquests opened into Shropshire mother and son killed in A49 tanker crash

The inquests of a mother and son who were killed in a crash on the A49 near Shrewsbury have been opened and adjourned.

Jane Warburton, 69, and her son Dean, 38, of Chestnut Meadow, Bucknell, in south Shropshire, died in a crash with an oil tanker between Condover and Dorrington.

Mrs Warburton, a retired nurse, and her son were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which happened on the morning of July 1. The road was closed to traffic for much of the day.

Mr John Ellery, coroner for Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, sitting at Shrewsbury's Shirehall yesterday, opened and adjourned the inquest to October 19 to be heard at the same venue.
