50 tonnes of hay alight in Craven Arms barn fire

Firefighters have been tackling a barn fire at Craven Arms since yesterday evening.

Fire control received a call about the fire, at Heath House Heath, at 7.22pm last night.

Around 50 tonnes of hay were alight, and crews are using four main jets to prevent the spread of the fire to adjacent farm buildings.
Eight fire appliances including the water carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Church Stretton, Clun, Craven Arms, Ludlow and Wellington.

An operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used a hosereel jet and main jet to tackle the fire.
Electricity to the barn has been isolated.
