Leah Lloyd-Owens has spoken of her heartbreak after losing her phone during the school run, which had precious pictures of her 19-month-old baby Steffan's journey as he battles leukaemia.

The mother-of-two was taking her five-year-old son Dafydd and his friend to school on May 17 when she lost her phone near to Stadco in Llanfyllin, where her car was parked.

The phone is a black Sony Ericsson Xperia z3 compact.

Recalling the moment she misplaced her phone, Mrs Lloyd-Owens, of Maes Y Dderwen in Llanfyllin, said: "I was taking my little boy and his friend to school at about quarter to nine, and, me being stupid, I put my phone on the roof of the car.

"I didn't realise at the time what I'd done, it was only later when I was getting Steffan in the car to go out again that I noticed I couldn't find my phone, so I asked my mum to ring my phone and then I remembered."

Despite going to retrace her steps, Mrs Lloyd-Owens has since had no joy and fears she has lost cherished pictures forever.

"I've been taking pictures every day of Steffan's journey. These pictures are worth everything to me. I feel like someone's ripped my heart out as I'll have nothing to show my boys as they grow old if I don't get my phone back," she said.

"The fact I've lost my phone isn't what upsets me, you can replace a phone but it's the pictures, they can't be replaced. With everything we've gone through over the last year, I haven't thought to back these pictures up or save them somewhere else, I just haven't had the time."

Describing the pictures as "irreplaceable", Mrs Lloyd-Owens said Steffan was just eight months old when he was diagnosed, and ever since every moment of his battle has been documented.

"I've got pictures of his first ambulance ride, the first time he underwent chemotherapy, his first birthday was spent in hospital. I took pictures of all these moments," she said.

Desperate to find her phone, Mrs Lloyd-Owens has posted on Facebook asking people to be on the look out, and believes the phone is now in Oswestry close to the Highwayman pub.

She added: "If anyone knows anything at all please, please let me know because if I don't get it back it means that 19 months of memories are lost, and money can't buy those, those memories are priceless."
