Telford man, 39, denies rape and assault charges

A Telford man has appeared in court to deny a number of charges of rape and assault against two women.

Alfreco Jones faces six charges against the first woman.

The 39-year-old, of Ketley Park Road, in Ketley, is accused of two counts of rape, two of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, one charge of sexual assault and one of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.

Jones is also charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm on a second woman.

He denied all charges, which are said to have occurred between March 2004 and December 2013, when he appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court.

Judge Peter Barrie adjourned the case and set a date for trial on January 9 next year.

It is expected to last five days and Jones was bailed until then.
