Detectives and forensics experts started examining land at Nant-y-Ffrith on the outskirts of Bwlchgwyn, near Wrexham, on Thursday, after searching a smallholding in Henlle Lane on the edge of Gobowen, near Oswestry, on Wednesday.

North Wales Police said it was in connection with what is believed to be an historic crime.

Yesterday a spokesman for the force said the investigation was still on-going but there had been no major developments. No arrests have been made in connection with the investigation.

On Wednesday, police and military personnel spent much of the day at the farmland in Gobowen, next to a caravan park as part of the search, which was extended to Bwlchgwyn on Thursday.

North Wales Police said they have received information that an unidentified man had been murdered and disposed of on the outskirts of Wrexham. Anyone with information should call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
