The pensioner was withdrawing cash from Lloyds Bank in Wrekin Drive, Donnington, Telford when it happened.

West Mercia Police spokeswoman Anne Tugwell said: "A woman to his left distracted him by waving two £10 notes and a piece of paper in front of his face and asked him for change.

"She then turned away and left the area with a man.

"The victim then realised that his bank card was missing. He cancelled the card, but it had already been used to withdraw £220 from a cash machine in Newport."

Police said the incident happened at around 3.30pm last Thursday and have appealed for witnesses.

The suspects are described as a white woman, aged 25-30 years old, with slim build and short, brown hair, and a white man, also aged 25-30, of slim build with short black hair.
