Pictures: Tractor spills fertiliser load at Oswestry roundabout

[gallery] Emergency services were called this afternoon when a tractor spilled its load of fertiliser on a busy roundabout in Oswestry.

The tractor was carrying bags of fertiliser which split, spilling out on to the Mile End roundabout.

West Mercia Police spokesman Kieren Bodill said the police were called to the scene at 2.30pm.

He said: "The tractor was travelling towards Shrewsbury when the bags of fertiliser came off and split."

Highways officers also attended to help deal with the problem, while police were there helping.

The roundabout was clear by 3.35pm.

Mr Bodill added: "The fertiliser ended up going down the drain, so now highways are trying to get it out."
