Teenager burned with cigarette and forced to let go of iPhone in Telford mugging

A teenager was forced to hand over his iPhone as a robber burned him with a cigarette during a mugging in Telford.

Police are appealing to witnesses following a robbery in Dawley, Telford, when the victim, an 18-year-old boy was approached by two men outside the Costcutter on King Street.

One of the men, stole a blue iPod from his pocket.

The men then left in the direction of Arden Avenue, and the victim followed.

One of the men then grabbed hold of his iPhone.

A struggle took place and one of the men kicked the victim's leg, pushed him to the floor and put a cigarette out on his hand, causing a slight burn and forcing him to let go off the phone. Both of the suspects then left in the direction of the Church Wickets Pub.

Police are urging anyone who may have been in the area at the time, and who may have witnessed the incident to make contact. They are also keen to hear from anyone who may have been offered a dark blue iPod or a yellow iPhone 5c.
