Letter: Better use of our cash

Dave Barnett, C U Booth, myself and so many others have argued the case for this country exiting the EU.

The Conservative Party is split, with David Cameron extolling the virtues of remaining within what is after all, a failed French/German experiment to dump us all together under what is the biggest joke of all, the single currency, or euro.

The pound is strong, countries within Europe are now closing their borders firmly shut because of the immigrant problem, so much for open borders for all.

We have traded all around the world for many centuries can anyone forget when we were a Roman province, trading all over the world, and without having to pay an extortionate membership fee.

This government has already begun its plans for the new HS2 rail fiasco, talking of how much better off we will be.

I'm thinking we would be better off moving the money from that white elephant, and investing it, along with the daily amount we give to the EU. Put this together with all the other money we give to other countries, who could well do without it.

We should put it to proper use, investing in our NHS, not penny- pinching, trying to bully our junior doctors, and probably sooner rather than later, nurses into new slave driver tactics of long hours, putting themselves and their patients at grave risk in order to give the ever growing bank balances of the one per cent in this country more.

We all know the Labour Government had to fight hard to give us the NHS. Please don't let a few rich Tories, who have all had their treatment on the NHS have their ultimate way by privatising it.
