Record Store Day 2016: Hundreds in Shropshire rush to get vinyl

Hundreds across Shropshire were rushing out today for Record Store Day where they can get their hands on limited edition vinyl records - with some queuing up outside shops from as early as 6.30am.

Record Store Day was launched in 2007 when more than 700 independent stores in the USA came together to mark their unique culture.

The UK followed suit and 2015 will see the eighth commemoration when all the independently owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music.

Today record shops across Shropshire were rammed with vinyl enthusiats wanted to get their hands on some special releases.

Kelly Roberts, from Shrewsbury, headed for Left For Dead on the Wyle Cop.

She said: "I get here at about 7.45am and the queue was already 20 people deep.

"I managed to get what I wanted and did really well."

Meanwhile queues were also seen at Cave Records in the Parade.
