Mr Blent, 34, was last seen in the early hours of Thursday, March 17, at his home in Moneybrook Way, Meole Brace.

Poloice said a search of a wooded area near Mary Webb Road and the Reabrook in Shrewsbury was carried out on Wednesday, following a report made by a member of the public, but it provided no new leads in the search.

Mr Blent is described as white, around 6ft, of heavy build with short dark hair.

He was last seen wearing blue jogging bottoms, a grey jacket and blue and white trainers.

Emily Dixon, spokeswoman for West Mercia Police said: "He may be sheltering in garden outbuildings and we are asking residents to check garages and garden sheds for any signs that a person may have been sleeping there."

Officers have said his family was extremely concerned, as it was out of character for him not to be in contact for such a length of time. Police described him as a "high risk missing person" and further concerns were raised as he has failed to collect regular medication.

They are appealing for any information about Mr Blent and anyone who may have seen him or has knowledge of his whereabouts to call 101.
