Andrew McNab pleaded guilty to a new charge of unlawfully wounding Matthew Bowring at Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday.

But a not guilty verdict was returned by Judge Peter Barrie on the robbery count after prosecutor Mr Stefan Kolodynski offered no evidence.

Formal not guilty verdicts were also recorded for Paul Edwards, 37, and Brogan Davis, 21, also both of Henley Drive, and Benjamin Parks, 25, of Gladstone Street, Hadley, Telford.

The trio had denied playing their part in robbing Mr Bowring at a house in Henley Drive in August 2014.

The prosecution also offered no evidence against Keiran Joyce, 29, of Shawfield, Sutton Hill, Telford, who had denied inflicting grievous bodily harm on Mr Bowring and robbing him.

James Delaney, 29, of Wyvern, Woodside, Telford, had already admitted causing grievous bodily harm and robbery and did not play any part in the trial.

Judge Barrie adjourned the case against McNab for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.

He was remanded in custody to appear back at court tomorrow, where he will be sentenced alongside Delaney.
