One taken to hospital after rush hour crash on M54 at Telford

A man had to be taken to hospital following a crash during rush hour on the M54 this morning.

The accident, which involved one car, happened on the eastbound carriageway between Junction 3 for Albrighton and Junction 4 for Shifnal.

A man in his 40s was then taken to the Princess Royal Hospital.

Jamie Arrowsmith, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were at 10.32am called to reports of a single vehicle collision on the eastbound carriageway between junctions four and three.

"One male patient in his 40s who was suffering from a reduced level of consciousness.

"Following treatment on scene he was transported to Princess Royal Hospital."

One ambulance and the Midlands Air Ambulance Crew from Cosford in a rapid response vehicle attended."

The accident caused delays for motorists while emergency services were at the scene.
