Lee Andrew Johnson, who worked for West Mercia Police in the Oswestry area, was well-known for his Twitter account, in which he mixed police appeals and news with humour.

Sergeant Johnson, who lived in Flintshire, died suddenly on Saturday.

A force spokesman said he was not on duty when he died and his death was not being treated as suspicious. He leaves his wife Barbara, daughter Elle and son Kane.

The spokesman said: "We are working closely with his family at this very sad time to provide them with whatever support we can. They have requested that their right to privacy be respected."

The funeral will be held at St Mary's Cathedral in Wrexham on February 25. Donations in lieu of flowers can be given to the Autistic Society.
