The men, believed to be trainees with the Saudi Air Force, were arrested following the reported rape of a woman in Telford.

Natasha Kaur, of West Mercia Police, said the two men had been arrested following a complaint which had been made on February 7.

"One man, 21, was arrested on suspicion of rape and the second, also 21, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to rape," she said.

"RAF Cosford are fully co-operating with West Mercia Police's ongoing investigation into this incident and both men have been released on bail until March."

Stacey Mellor of RAF Cosford said: "We can confirm that two overseas students based at RAF Cosford have been arrested by West Mercia Police on suspicion of rape and conspiracy to commit rape.

"The RAF is fully co-operating with West Mercia Police who have primacy for the investigation. It would be inappropriate to comment further while legal proceedings are ongoing."
