Ironbridge flood barriers come down

Flood barriers in Ironbridge were coming down today and the defences in Shrewsbury were being reviewed as the Environment Agency reported that river levels were stable or falling for most of the length of the Severn.

At 10am today there were six flood alerts still in pace for the region.

Flood alerts - flooding is possible. Be prepared:

  • River Severn in Worcestershire

  • Severn Vyrnwy Confluence

  • The River Dee Catchment in England from Whitchurch to Chester

  • Lower Dee Valley from Llangollen to Trevalyn Meadows

  • River Severn in Shropshire

  • Tern and Perry Catchments
