A service to mark the life of 23-year-old Charlotte Grace Foster, of Newport, was held at Market Drayton Methodist Church at 12.30pm yesterday(WED).

The funeral service was followed by a private family cremation. Any donations made by mourners in Miss Foster's memory will be split between the intensive care unit at Princess Royal Hospital and Crohn's and Colitis UK.

Miss Foster died on January 25 at Princess Royal Hospital in Telford.

An inquest opening last week heard that doctors believed Miss Foster had suffered a blood clot on the lung as a result of taking the contraceptive pill.

Miss Foster was described by her family as an 'intelligent, beautiful, and caring young lady'.

In a statement, her parents, Stephen and Cecilia, said the family had been left heartbroken.

A full inquest into Miss Foster's death will take place at Shirehall, Shrewsbury, on April 26.
