This time the lottery syndicate at Palethorpes in Market Drayton won £303,465.20 after their numbers came up in the draw on Friday last week.

The odds of matching five main numbers and one lucky star twice in that period are about three-billion-to-one.

The money will be shared out among the 25-strong syndicate at the factory in Maer Lane, including five members who were part of the win in 2006.

This time the winners, who are all from the Shropshire or Stoke-on-Trent areas, will each receive £12,138.60.

  • The draw which saw the Shropshire syndicate win for a second time.

The syndicate first hit the headlines in November 2006 when it received a share of a then-record £123 million jackpot.

That time, nobody was able to match all five main numbers and two Lucky Star numbers to win the full prize, so it was shared between the 20 lucky ticket-holders across Europe who matched five main numbers and one Lucky Star number on the next prize level.

The £6.7 million share was divided up between the syndicate's 33 members, with each getting a £204,553 share.

It was double joy though for syndicate leader Daryl Bowden, who was then 55. Her husband Dave was also a member.

At the time, Mrs Bowden revealed how she was stunned by the size of the win. "I am shaking now, but it hasn't really sunk in yet," she said. "Dave has been really excited. Everyone at work is really excited."

The workers took the time to help their community, with some syndicate members using part of the money to create a garden at the Severn Hospice in Shrewsbury.

The win helped cement Shropshire's reputation as one of the luckiest counties for lottery wins. Big winners include Ludlow husband and wife Robin and Christine Kiddle who received £6.3 million in 2013, and David and Marina Williams, of Telford, who won almost £1 million in 2008.
