Letter: Odds against Lotto players

Why would anyone want to place a bet when the odds are around one in 45 million?

The answer is in the cleverest catch phrase of the century, 'It could be you'.

You may as well stand in a field and wait to be struck by lightning, but somebody does win hence the power of the catch phrase.

Introducing more balls has increased the odds against winning considerably, but for those who use the same numbers they are caught hook, line and sinker.

The saying 'fools and their money are soon parted' comes to mind. Sorry, no offence intended.
