Man suffers 'serious wound' in Oswestry attack

A man is being treated in hospital after an attack in the early hours of this morning left him with a serious wound.

Police are calling for witnesses after a "serious assault" around the Horse Market area in Oswestry shortly after 3am today.

OCC Inspector James Ashton for West Mercia Police said: "The victim sustained a serious wound to his stomach and is being treated in hospital.

"Police are grateful to a number of people who have already come forward and given accounts but would like to speak to anybody else who has witnessed the incident or has information about it."

Anyone with information about the incident should call police on 101 quoting incident number 132s of December 19.
