People were asked to leave Cineworld in Southwater Square just before 8.30pm yesterday after an automatic fire alarm went off. It is not known how many people were in the cinema at the time.

Alarms also started ringing at the cinema at about 3.20pm.

Fire crews were sent from Telford Central station to respond to the evening alarm but a spokeswoman for Shropshire Fire and Rescue service said no evidence of fire could be found.
