The French flag was projected onto the landmark building following a series of co-ordinated attacks on the capital, killing at least 129 people.

Terrorists targeted a concert hall, a major sports stadium, restaurants and bars on Friday night.

Shrewsbury's Market Hall joined landmarks from across the globe to show solidarity with France and its people as the lights on the Eiffel Tower were switched off.

The red, white and blue flag was shone onto London Bridge, London's Wembley Stadium, Sydney Opera House, The One World Trade Centre spire and San Francisco city hall to name just a few locations.

Elsewhere in the county, the bells at St Laurence's Church in Ludlow were muffled in special tribute to the victims and their families.
