William Clark of Catesby Road, Staverton, Northamptonshire had already admitted unlawfully wounding Joshua Brown on September 19 last year.

The 23-year-old was found not guilty of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm by a jury at Shrewsbury Crown Court today.

Clark had admitted biting the nose of Mr Brown on graduation night at Harper Adams College, Shropshire.

The jury heard that Clark, who works for an exotic fruit importer, had been in the student union bar of the college with friends when he got into an altercation with Mr Brown. During the argument Clark bit the tip of Mr Brown's nose off.

Sentencing was adjourned until the week beginning October 26 for pre-sentence reports to be prepared.
