The male rider was taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital by ambulance after the collision with a car, which took place outside the Mytton and Mermaid pub in Attingham on the B4380 Emstrey Bank, at around 8.30am.

Police closed the road while ambulance staff attended to the rider, with a passing surgeon initially stopping to provide assistance.

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed it had sent an ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene, and that although the rider was initially unconscious, had regained consciousness before being taken to hospital.

He is said to have suffered a facial injury, as well as damage to his arm.

Ambulance staff used a pelvic binder, a neck collar, and a spinal board, to secure the rider before he was taken to hospital.
