Two taken to hospital and one arrested after alleged assault at Shropshire M54 services

Two men were taken to hospital after an alleged assault near the M54 motorway services at Shifnal.

Officers were called at 7.40am this morning to reports of an assault of a man.

Kieren Bodill, operational communications assistant at West Mercia Police said: "It was an isolated incident where a 27-year-old man sustained injuries to his shoulder.

"A further male sustained an injury to his hand.

"Both were taken by ambulance to Telford's Princess Royal Hospital for treatment.

"Investigations are currently on-going.

"A 35 year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault."

Police are aware that members of the public could have been within the area at the time of the incident, and are appealing for anyone with information regarding the assault, to contact West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident 67s of September 15.
