Alice, a Shih Tzu/Pug cross was unclipped from a stall at the Chirk airfield sale on Sunday morning.

Owner, Tash Jones, 30, from Ruthin, north Wales, said witnesses have reported seeing a boy aged about 10, who was with a group of men, tucking a small dog inside his jumper.

She says her children, two-year-old Milo and eight-year-old Kai, are inconsolable.

"I left Alice with my dad while we visited a very ill relative in Bristol," she said. "Dad was doing a car boot sale to help my sister who is going to uni."

She said it seems that her dad was distracted by a group of men while the youngster grabbed the puppy.

"Kai has wanted a dog for so long. He is shy and Alice has really brought him out of his shell. I would do anything to get her back. She is microchipped and we have informed the police. If she is brought back there will be no questions asked and the person who returns her will be compensated regardless of whether they took her."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Tash on 07805 833182, or contact PC Warburton of North Wales Police on 101 with the reference S140222.
