Car overturns in crash near Bridgnorth

A car overturned after it collided with another vehicle near Bridgnorth - but no-one was injured. In a later accident on the same road one person was cut free after a car hit a lamppost.

The first accident happened on the A454 in Rudge Heath at about 8pm on Monday.

Five fire crews from Albrighton, Bridgnorth and Wellington were sent to the scene along with the police and ambulance service.

The accident was between a Mini Countryman being driven by man, believed to be in his 20s and a woman in a white Fiat 500, age unknown.

Incident commander Ashley Brain said nobody was trapped, and both drivers were out of their cars when they arrived.

In the second accident, shortly after 10pm, fire crews were sent from Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock and Wellington.

Firefighters cut one person free from a car which had hit a lamppost.
