Officers reopened the eastbound entry slip road yesterday afternoon, despite initial fears it could be shut until next week.

A tweet from Highways England said:

The slip road had been closed since early Tuesday.

A skull was discovered by maintenance workers in the middle of August, with further remains found this week.

Post mortem results proved inconclusive and officers are currently awaiting the results of tests as they seek to identify the remains.

Anyone with information is urged to call police on the non-emergency 101 number.
