Arsonists attack toilets in Market Drayton

Arsonists have cause substantial damage to public toilets in Market Drayton.

Published

They attacked the disabled toilet attached to the town hall in Frogmore Road after forcing entry between 10pm and 11.20pm on August 18.

Police say a fire was then started in the corner of the disabled toilet and spread, causing substantial damage to the walls, light fixtures and fittings.

Three young men aged between 15 and 20 were seen within the area around that.

Two are described as wearing grey hooded tops with hoods up, dark trousers and possibly rucksacks. The other was wearing dark jacket with white top beneath and dark trousers, and he appears to have short dark hair.

Nobody was injured during the fire, but firefighters said it was lucky it didn't spread to other parts of the building.

Anyone with information or who saw suspicious activity in the area at the time is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident 98s of Wednesday August 19.

Alternatively, information can be given to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via crimestoppers-uk.org
