Fire crews used cutters and a spinal board at the scene in Bromfield Road near Ludlow.

Four fire engines were sent from Craven Arms, Ludlow and Wellington just after 1.30pm om Sunday.

The A4113 was blocked in both directions between the A49 junction in Bromfield and the Rosemary Lane junction in Leintwardine.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "On arrival, crews discovered a car in a hedge which they were told had rolled and come to rest on all four wheels after leaving the road. It is not believed any other vehicles were involved.

"The driver, a 19-year-old female, was the sole occupant in the car and was trapped inside the vehicle as a result of the incident.

"Following an initial assessment, ambulance crews worked alongside the fire service to free her from the car, a process which involved cutting the roof off the vehicle and took approximately 45 minutes.

"She was treated for injuries to her arm, neck and back and immobilised with the use of a neck collar and spinal board.

"She was also given pain relief before being transported to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for further assessment."
