Motorcyclist suffers 'life-threatening' injuries in Shropshire border crash

A motorcyclist has been left with life-threatening injuries after a collision with a car in Shropshire.

North Wales Police is appealing for witnesses after the crash which happened close on the A539 at Overton, near Whitchurch, this morning.

The incident took place close to the Cross Foxes Public House at about 7.40am.

North Wales police roads policing officer sergeant Tony Gatley said: "Shortly before 7.40am this morning a road traffic collision took place involving a blue and white Suzuki motorcycle and blue Fiat car resulting in the motorcyclist sustaining serious life-threatening injuries.

"A full investigation will now take place and we'd like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision or events leading up to it."

The road has been closed in both directions while police investigate.
