The blaze at the farm in Stottesdon, near Bridgnorth, quickly escalated after the fuel stored in a 2,500-litre tank ignited. But firefighters were able to stop the flames spreading to nearby buildings, including a barn full of straw bales.

The fire, which broke out at about 5.30pm yesterday, was under control within 15 minutes, although firefighters remained at the scene last night damping down. The building was badly damaged.
