Tests carried out on M54 skull find

A post-mortem is being carried out today on human remains found by the side of the M54 in Shropshire.

A man's remains were discovered after a skull was found by maintenance workers alongside the motorway slip road at Junction 4 near Shifnal last Thursday.

Police assisted by archaeology and anthropology experts conducted excavations and forensic examinations of the area.

The remains had been there for at least two years. So far the police have been unable to link the find to any particular missing person.
