Witness plea after road rage incident in Welshpool

A driver allegedly got out of his car to punch a man in a road rage incident in Welshpool.

Police have appealed for witnesses to an alleged assault that occurred in Mill Lane in Welshpool at the entrance to a boarded-up building site in the town at 6.15pm on Thursday.

A spokesman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "A white male, aged mid to late 20s wearing a Welsh rugby T-shirt, assaulted another male during the incident by punching him three times. The male then drove off in a grey Peugeot estate car.

"Anyone who witnessed this incident and/or knows the alleged offender should contact Welshpool police station."

Meanwhile, a car crashed into a fence on an estate in Shrewsbury. The accident happened on New Park Close in the Castlefields area shortly after 4pm on Friday.

Firefighters were at the scene for about 20 minutes and an ambulance also attended.
