Witness appeal after biker suffers life threatening injuries in A49 crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a crash between a motorcycle and a horsebox on the A49, north of Craven Arms, where the motorcyclist suffered life threatening injuries.

The crash happened at 7pm on Friday when a Suzuki GSF 600 motorcycle was travelling from Craven Arms towards Shrewsbury on the A49 when it was in a crash with an Iveco horsebox, travelling in the opposite direction.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 27 year-old man, was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham.

The driver of the horsebox was not injured.

West Mercia Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision or to anyone who saw either vehicle beforehand to call 101, quoting incident number 595 of August 14.
