Inquest on part-time Shropshire fireman adjourned

The inquest on a part-time firefighter who had been due to appear in court over a series of vehicle and bin fires has been opened and adjourned.

Kingsley Tolley, 37, of Albrighton, had been charged, along with colleague David Pearson, with conspiracy to damage or destroy property.

Mr Tolley's body was found in woodland in Albrighton on July 24.

The cause of death was hanging, Shropshire coroner Mr John Ellery told the inquest at Wellington Register Office yesterday.

Mr Ellery adjourned the full hearing into Mr Tolley's death until November 12 at Shrewsbury's Shirehall.

Mr Pearson, 31, of Station Road, Pontesbury, will appear in court on August 28.

He and Mr Tolley, of Valian Road, worked for Shropshire Fire Service.
