Teenage girl pushed off bike during robbery on Shrewsbury path

A teenage girl was pushed off her bike during a robbery in Shrewsbury before the offender rode away on it.

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses or information to the robbery on a towpath between Haughmond Hill and Telford Way, between 4.30pm and 5pm yesterday afternoon.

The 13 year-old girl was cycling on the towpath, when a man started jogging towards her and pushed the girl off her bike, before taking it.

The girl fell into the hedge, causing her to hit her head. The offender then cycled off towards Haughmond Hill.

The bike is described as a black mountain bike with silver on the front, and either TREK or TREKKER written on the side of the frame.

The offender is described as a white man, around 5ft 9 inches, with fair skin and short shaved black hair. He was wearing a large combat jacket, black trousers, boots and a black snapback cap with a green logo on the front.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the offence, or anyone who may have any information about the bike to come forward. Please call police on 101, quoting incident 525S of the 04/08/15.
