Although visitor numbers at Saturday's one day agricultural show have have not yet been fully counted, organisers are confident that the 107th show attracted a record crowd.

Mandy Roberts, spokesman for the show, said: "This is definitely a record year for gate receipts. The final figures have not get come in but we had a record show."

Past events have seen figures around the 18,000 mark for good years.

A deluge of rain last year made 2014 one of the worse attendance years in the show's long history, leading to worries over finances.

But the event is now set to be back on an even keel thanks to Saturday's success.

Perfect weather, online ticketing and social media have been praised for helping to boost figures.
