Witnesses sought after fatal Newtown crash

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of a crash which saw a motorcyclist killed in a collision with a minibus.

The 49-year-old died on Sunday after the crash on the A489 between Sarn and Kerry, near Newtown.

Dyfed-Powys Police said specially trained officers are supporting the man's family, but the force has not named the man, who is not believed to be from Mid Wales.

The road was closed for several hours after the crash which happened at about 8.50am.

Rhian Davies-Moore, Dyfed-Powys Police spokeswoman, said: "The three people on board the minibus were not injured but taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

"The road remained closed throughout the day while specialist officers conducted a thorough investigation to establish the cause of the collision."

The force helicopter also attended to take photographs of the collision site.
