Around £2,000 worth of farm machinery has been stolen from a Shropshire farm.

A heavy duty cultivator, was taken from a field at the end of Willmoor Lane in Lilleshall.

However it is not clear when the machinery was taken, as the owner of the land only discovered it was missing last week.

Constable Lee Thomas, of West Mercia Police said: "The machine was four metres wide by two and a half metres high, weighed quite a bit, and would have required a large van and trailer or lorry to take away.

"Unfortunately, because the equipment wasn't in use every day, the owner cannot be sure exactly when it was taken other than being in the last few months.

"Often, farmers will leave machinery and plant in the fields where they are used, but only come to fetch them when they are needed.

"We would appeal to anyone in Lilleshall village, especially residents of Willmoor Lane and Limekiln Lane to get in touch with police if they can recall any unusual vehicles or people travelling up and down the lane and removing farm machinery."

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference 231S 240715
