Pupils at Brockton Primary School, near Much Wenlock, sang, danced and acted out roles for their version of the Pied Piper.

The annual show in the school hall, which also doubled up as a fundraiser, was a sell out.

The hall was packed with family and friends, raising more than £500 for the school funds.

The tale of the Pied Piper dates back as far as the 14th century and follows the story of a man hired as a rat-catcher to lure rodents away from the German town of Hamelin with his magic pipe.

When the citizens refuse to pay for this service, he retaliates by using the power of his instrument on their children, leading them away instead of the rats.

Major parts were played by Will Ross, who took the lead role as The Pied Piper, while Noah Key and Bethany Dickson played Peter.

Phoebe Barker was The Mayor of Hamelin, Amy Rushworth became Peter's Mother and Zac Roberts was Mr Brumhandel. Headteacher Sue Relph said: "I am so proud of all the children."
